I have published over 200 photographs in books and magazines, many of which were for articles I wrote. While I was a college textbook editor at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, I took photos for half the books I edited—including three cover shots. I oversaw the picture programs on all of my books at HBJ, some of which had hundreds of illustrations.
        I was the first person to review photography exhibitions on a regular basis for a major art magazine (Arts Magazine,1972-74). I edited the book/catalog Photography in California: 1945-1980, for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
